HTNO :: Make a Wish

Stichting Doe een Wens (Make a Wish Nederland) heeft besloten om Thomas te verrassen. De doelstelling van Make a Wish is het vervullen van de hartewens van kinderen met een levensbedreigende ziekte. Thomas zijn wens was om een Supercomputer te krijgen waarmee hij met zijn vrienden via internet verschillende spellen kan spelen en gezellig kan samenzijn met bijvoorbeeld Skype.

Op 17 april kwamen Thea en Jan ons bezoeken om precies te weten te komen wat Thomas nog precies zou willen krijgen. Een heerlijk relaxed gesprek waarin Thomas kon vertellen wat hij normaal gesproken overdag zo allemaal doet en wat zijn beperkingen zijn. Jan en Thea zijn de 'Wenshalers'. Zij komen dus letterlijk de wens halen.

Op 27 augustus was het dan zo ver. De wens kwam in vervulling. De wens was doorgegeven aan wens-manager Rob die er voor gezorgd heeft dat dit ongelooflijk mooie cadeau voor Thomas gerealiseerd werd. Omdat Thomas vanaf het begin betrokken was bij de wens, had hij al lange tijd kriebels in zijn buik als hij er aan dacht. Vandaag was zijn dag en hij had er helemaal naartoe geleefd. De indrukken van deze dag waren verpletterend. Thomas heeft zich de hele dag kunnen verzetten tegen zijn verlammingsaanvallen. De dagen daarna heeft hij het daardoor beduidend moeilijker gehad.

Als ouders willen we de stichting "Make a Wish" heel, heel erg bedanken voor dit fantastische cadeau. Het is nauwelijks te omschrijven wat dit voor Thomas betekend.
